Recipients of the Military Medal are entitled to use the post-nominal letters "MM" after their name.

LYNCH, Corporal Gerald P., awarded Military Medal for good work in the field, and (?) to it for carrying in Australian wounded under heavy shell fire. Youngest son of the late John and Sarah Lynch, of Fitzroy, formerly of Ballarat and Bungaree. Was well known in Melbourne musical circles. His elder brother, John Lynch, has been serving with Essex Cyclist Battalion since 1915.
Died 1972 in Sydney, New South Wales.
